Analysis of Traffic Noise Levels on Land Use in Jos Metropolis, Nigeria

Traffic noise in urban areas has always been a global issue. This study focuses on the land use analysis of traffic levels Jos Metropolis. The was conducted Metropolis, Plateau State, Nigeria. Twenty-five (25) road corridors were sampled for study. Measurement points randomly selected along corridors. collected using Sound Level Meter. sound level meter positioned at distance 6.5 m from centreline nearest travel lane and held about 1.5 high ground level. data three times day during peak hour periods Monday to Saturday. Noise measured 15 minutes an interval 6 seconds each measurement point six days, making total 18 measurements per location. Data sourced field analysed Mean, Standard Deviation Analysis Variance (ANOVA). revealed that Metropolis various uses exceeded maximum permissible recommended by WHO FEPA. dispersal through allocation
